Secretary of State Borapich welcomed the UK businesses and reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to fostering trade and investment with international partners. He highlighted the ongoing support and encouragement provided by the IDI (Innovation and Development Investors Association) in this effort.

The official signing ceremony of their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) took place on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.

Leading the agreement for IDI was Mr. Chap Sopheak, Secretary General and CEO of ID Capital Plc. (IDC), while Mr. Philip Set Kao, President of STC, represented the tourism association. This strategic partnership paves the way for collaborative efforts focused on five key areas:

On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, the Innovation and Development Investors Association “IDI” led by Mr. Chap Sopheak, Secretary General of IDI signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Cambodian Swiftlet Bird’s Nest Manufacturer and Exporter Association “CSMEA” at the Cambodia Bird’s Nest Business Forum.

Through this Memorandum of Understanding, the two parties intend to work closely to achieve the common objectives including:

(1) to promote Cambodian Swiftlet Bird’s Nest products to international markets by establishing various trade promotion events.

(2) Seek local and foreign investors to invest in the Cambodian bird’s nest processing industry to comply with food quality and safety standards in order to meet the requirements of local and international markets.

(3) To cooperate in organizing various technical skills training courses.

(4) Cooperate in policy dialogue with the government and relevant institutions on the export of Cambodian Swiftlet Bird’s Nest products to target markets.
