PHNOM PENH: The Innovation and Development Investors Association (IDI) and Siem Reap Tourist Club Association (STC) have joined hands to promote sustainable tourism and empower local communities in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

The official signing ceremony of their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) took place on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.

Leading the agreement for IDI was Mr. Chap Sopheak, Secretary General and CEO of ID Capital Plc. (IDC), while Mr. Philip Set Kao, President of STC, represented the tourism association. This strategic partnership paves the way for collaborative efforts focused on five key areas:

1. The development of agricultural tourism is to build a value chain for agricultural products by converting them into tourism products.

2. Establishing business incubators within community-based tourism and education.

3. Education, more specifically, the setting up of schools, including creating curricula, recruiting students, and providing appropriate employment opportunities.

4. Promote sustainable & smart tourism.

5. Jointly create events that can promote tourism and related business in Siem Reap and Cambodia, starting by formulating a yearly event calendar.

Siem Reap Tourist Club Association is licensed as a Multi-Tourism Skill Association and operates under the laws and regulations of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

This MoU signals a promising future for Siem Reap tourism, fueled by collaborative innovation and a shared commitment to sustainability and community empowerment.
