PHNOM PENH: On the morning of August 31, 2022, Samdech Techo Hun Sen officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony to construct two new flyovers in Phnom Penh.

On that occasion, Samdech also announced that a new bridge across the Bassac River will be opening next year, as part of the Royal Government’s priority project to facilitate travel transportation, mainly to reduce traffic congestion.

Samdech Techo stated that the study of the construction project has been completed with a length of 845 meters, divided into 4 lanes (2 lanes for traffic in each direction), which is significant, easy to traffic with a budget of about $ 60 million may be responsible for the Chinese company’s construction.

The new Bassac River Bridge project is near Prek Pra in Chbar Ampov district, and it connects to the Chak Angre area in Meanchey district of Phnom Penh. It is a priority project to improve travel and the transportation sector.
