Japanese companies to expand investment to Cambodia

PHNOM PENH: Japanese firms – Pharma Foods International Co., Ltd. (PFI) and Ehime Package – have expressed their intention to expand their investment to , particularly in the agricultural sector.

The investment plans were raised by Mr. Kim Mujo, CEO of Pharma Foods International Co., Ltd. (PFI) and Mr. Ikawa Naoki, President of Ehime Package Co., Ltd., in their separate courtesy calls on Cambodian Prime Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet in Tokyo this morning.

Samdech Thipadei welcomed the investment plans and encouraged the companies to bring in new technologies to directly benefit Cambodian farmers and ensure Cambodia's competitiveness.

According to the Cambodian Premier, the Royal Government is promoting the production of agricultural products as a finished product for export. It has set out a number of mechanisms and measures, including the deployment of agricultural officials in all communes across the country to assist farmers and form modern agricultural cooperatives.

Pharma Foods International Co., Ltd. (PFI) specializes in making clothes and producing cosmetics and egg-based products, while Ehime Package Co., Ltd. wished to invest in Cambodia in producing paper boxes from agricultural products for export.
