PHNOM PENH: A1 Plastic Waste Limited is interested in investing in recycling plastic waste using recycled polyethylene terephthalate (RPET) in Cambodia.

The interest was highlighted by Mrs. Lee Hong Lan Deborah Anne, Representative of A1 Plastic Resources Limited, during her meeting with H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, in Phnom Penh on Feb. 21.

Mrs. Lee Hong Lan Deborah Anne informed H.E. Eang Sophalleth that the firm will recycle waste and commercially link the recycled material to the international market.

She spoke highly of the ministry's effort to minimize the import of plastic bags by about 50 percent through its continuing campaign.

H.E. Eang Sophalleth supported the firm's investment in Cambodia's plastic waste, which is a priority for the country.
