Through this Memorandum of Understanding, the two institutions aim to collaborate closely to achieve the common goals:

(a) Both entities shall exchange business referrals where IDI will refer to CM2H potential foreign investors looking to apply for its membership program and CM2H will refer to IDI potential investors looking for potential investment projects.

(b) CM2H shall appoint IDI and IDC as advisors to address investment and business inquiries from its members and potential investors.

(c) IDI and CM2H will collectively engage in various business events to promote each other’s services as well as investment and business climate in Cambodia.

The Cambodia My 2nd Home (CM2H) is the only government official program approved and recognized by the Ministry of Interior and General Department of Immigration of the Kingdom of Cambodia to allow foreigners to stay in Cambodia with a Golden Visa of 10 years.

CM2H holders​ can apply for a Cambodia passport after 5 years. This is the only official pathway to apply for a Cambodian passport in Cambodia. The CM2H program is open to all countries recognized by Cambodia with certain investment and financial requirements.

The event featured over 50 booths showcasing products such as fresh and processed fruits, cashews, spices, cosmetics, body care, and saliva. Radiant ears and operators in logistics services were also present.

The event’s success was evident in the strong demand for Cambodian products, with many exhibits being sold out during and after the conference. Shun Fat Supermarket, an Asian supermarket chain with 26 branches in California, Nevada, and Texas, expressed a keen interest in sourcing processed agricultural and food products from Cambodia through IDI.

The visit also inspired several delegates to make significant investments to enhance their export capabilities. These investments include diversifying mango and gourd production, establishing warehousing services, improving cosmetic and personal care products, and processing dried fruits.

“This visit was organized by IDI in line with our commitment to support the Royal Government of Cambodia’s strategy to promote the export of agricultural and food products,” stated Dr. Hor Sereyvath, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IDI and IDC. “Our goal is to create opportunities for Cambodian businesses to connect with potential customers, gain valuable knowledge and experience regarding export requirements, and adhere to production, hygiene, and packaging standards for food products, ultimately boosting exports to the United States.”

To further facilitate trade between Cambodia and the US, IDI plans to launch the “One International Trade Portal Program” and open a representative office in Long Beach, California. This initiative will provide direct support and guidance to Cambodian and US businesses seeking to conduct business in both countries.

The association’s success in the US has prompted plans for similar business missions to other overseas markets in 2024, including Australia, Canada, France, Japan, and Korea. Additionally, the association intends to repeat its successful US mission in the coming years.

H.E. Buon Sarak Mony shared appreciation towards IDI’s effort in organizing such a visit and advised the delegation members to seize the opportunity to establish the business network and to introduce their products to the participants, which can lead to the increase of trade between the two countries.

On top of that, His Excellency also urged the delegates to exemplify the investment potentials and investment law of Cambodia, allowing foreign investors to possess 100% equity on top of the ease of remittance of profits made from investments in Cambodia to their home countries.

In collaboration with ID Capital Plc.
