H.E. Thong Khon pushed for more direct flights from major cities of China to Cambodia's international airports, especially Phnom Penh International Airport, Siem Reap International Airport, and Preah Sihanouk International Airport.

New Phnom Penh International Airport is scheduled to be put for official use this year, while another new Siem Reap International Airport will be inaugurated in late 2024 or early 2025.
