A large French logistics company plans to expand investment in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH: CMA CGM GROUP, the world's largest shipping and logistics company, intends to expand its investment in Cambodia.

The investment expansion plan was revealed by Mr. Rodolphe SAADE, Chairman and CEO of CMA CGM Group, when he was received by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Sun Chanthol, First Vice President of (CDC) and High Representative of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, in Paris, France on Jan. 18.

Mr. Rodolphe SAADE briefed H.E. Sun Chanthol on his company's business activities, saying that this French container shipping company is present in 160 countries through 400 offices.

The Cambodian DPM welcomed the company's expansion plan in Cambodia and emphasized the Royal Government's commitment to ensuring a favorable environment and providing all necessary coordination so that all investors feel warm and confident.

On the same day, H.E. Sun Chanthol also met with Ms. Sophie Viger, Managing Director of Ecole 42, which is collaborating with local partners in Cambodia to streamline its training program.

Ecole 42 is an innovative technology education institution that offers free education intending to provide students with the skills and knowledge for a career in technology and software development, explained Ms. Viger, adding that students are trained through peer-to-peer pedagogy and project-based learning.

In reply, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol expressed his pleasure with the presence of Ecole 42 in Cambodia and encouraged the school to further enhance its education and training process to contribute to the Royal Government of Cambodia in human resource development under the progress of technology in the current and with the actual demand of the Cambodian job market.
