PHNOM PENH — On Monday morning, March 9, 2026, Oknha Lim Socheat, Vice President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC), hosted a Japanese business delegation led by Mr. Ros Reasey, Head of the CCC Representative Office in Sendai, Japan. The meeting served as a formal platform to discuss the strengthening of economic ties and the expansion of trade cooperation between the two nations.

During the session, Mr. Ros Reasey expressed his gratitude to the CCC leadership for facilitating the dialogue. He emphasized that this inaugural visit allowed the Japanese businessmen to witness Cambodia’s development firsthand. The delegates noted a significant disparity between the reality of the country’s progress and the more negative portrayals often found in international media and social media.

The visiting delegation includes representatives from several key industries, specifically real estate, trade, restaurants, cosmetics, and elderly care services. These investors expressed a positive outlook on the local market and sought to identify specific avenues for entry and growth.

In response, Oknha Lim Socheat welcomed the group and praised the active efforts of the Sendai Representative Office. He encouraged the Japanese investors to capitalize on the current economic climate by establishing direct relationships with CCC members. The meeting concluded with in-depth discussions regarding potential cooperation and joint ventures across their respective sectors.

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia encouraged potential investors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to explore investment opportunities, emphasising its commitment to facilitating and supporting all business and investment activities in the country, at the “Doing Business with Cambodia” Forum held last Friday at the Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh Hotel.

The event was organised by the Dubai Chambers and in partnership with the Ministry of Commerce, the Council for the Development of Cambodia, and the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce.

The event brought together senior leaders from both sides, H.E. Ms. Tekreth Kamrang, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce, Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of the CCC and Chair of ASEAN Business Advisory-Cambodia, Mr. Salem AL Shamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations of the Dubai Chambers; and representatives of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, along with approximately 250 companies from Cambodia and the UAE.

H.E. Ms. Tekreth Kamrang delivered a special speech at the forum, affirming the Ministry’s commitment to fully facilitating and supporting all business and investment activities in the Kingdom.

“The trade and investment opportunities are growing under the Cambodia-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement,” she said, encouraging UAE investors to explore fields such as agriculture, agro-processing, logistics, and tourism.

The event also included a B2B business meeting between Cambodian and Dubai companies to connect directly and find potential partners in high-growth sectors.

Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, stressed the importance of the partnership between the two countries and highlighted that the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which entered into force on Jan. 31, 2024, has played a key role in providing confidence and reducing the risks of large-scale investment.

“Investment in Cambodia is not only about the domestic market of 17 million people, but also about Cambodia being a key gateway to the 680 million consumer market in the entire ASEAN region, and Cambodia being a strategic manufacturing and logistics hub,” he said.

The CCC President encouraged businessmen from both countries to use this business forum to find partners and practical projects, with the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce ready to provide support and help facilitate Dubai businessmen to enter the Cambodian market.

Mr. Salem AL Shamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations of the Dubai Chambers, highlighted that business relations between Cambodia and Dubai have been steadily growing, with bilateral trade between Cambodia and the UAE reaching nearly US$400 million.

He stressed that for the Dubai business community, Cambodia has potential and opportunities in many sectors, including: textiles, automobiles and electronics, etc.

There are currently more than 30 Cambodian companies investing and operating in Dubai in the real estate, wholesale and retail sectors and social services, according to CCC’s president.

The post Cambodia Attracts UAE Investment at Doing Business with Cambodia Forum first appeared on Estatedia | Economy & Real Estate Media in Cambodia.

This commitment comes as trade volume between the two nations reached US$ 1 billion in the first nine months of 2025. The affirmation took place during a meeting in Malaysia on Oct. 26, 2025.

Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of the CCC and Chair of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) for Cambodia, led a CCC delegation in discussions with Mr. Wayne Farmer, President of the CABC, and a delegation of Canadian business representatives.

Neak Oknha Kith Meng emphasised the goal of the meeting: “Our meeting today aims to further strengthen the important cooperation between the Canada-ASEAN Business Council, the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, and the Cambodia-ASEAN Business Council in order to boost trade and investment and accelerate bilateral economic growth.”

He praised the CABC’s “vital role” in enhancing economic linkages between Canada and ASEAN, noting that the success of Canadian companies in Cambodia is a “testament to the potential achievements that international investors can attain in Cambodia’s dynamic and rapidly growing market.”

The CCC President also highlighted Cambodia’s vast opportunities for Canadian investors, specifically mentioning prospects within the ASEAN region, leveraged by Cambodia’s strategic location and favourable trade agreements.

Kampong Speu Province – Kirirom Food Production Co., Ltd. (K.F.P.), a prominent Cambodian company specializing in dried Keo Romeat mangoes, is leveraging its long-standing relationship with GS1 Cambodia to further expand its presence in international markets. This collaboration is rooted in a recent visit by GS1 Cambodia to K.F.P.’s facility in Kampong Speu Province, where discussions focused on enhancing market reach and product quality.

K.F.P., founded by a Cambodian woman to transform wasted mangoes into valuable products, has been a member of GS1 Cambodia since 2014. The company is a robust regional enterprise, known for its premium dried mangoes and its exports to major countries in both Asia and Europe.

A key part of the visit included a technical discussion to ensure K.F.P.’s continued compliance with international barcode standards. This is a crucial step for K.F.P., which has been a valued member of GS1 Cambodia since 2014 and has established itself as a robust regional enterprise.

The discussion also explored K.F.P.’s market potential, with the company expressing interest in further collaboration with GS1 Cambodia. The company is seeking support with export market information, partnership opportunities, and participation in various trade fairs to expand its global reach.

K.F.P. currently exports its products to major countries across Asia and Europe. The company sources its Keo Romeat mangoes from the fertile soil of Kampong Speu Province, ensuring the highest quality. Their products are ethically processed and cater to both domestic and international markets.

K.F.P. has demonstrated a strong commitment to quality and food safety through numerous certifications, including BRC Grade A+, IFS, FDA, Kosher, HALAL, SEDEX Member, Global GAP, Rain Forest Alliance, and Non-GMO. The company is also in the process of implementing the Environmental Management System (EMS ISO-14001) standard.

By choosing K.F.P.’s products, customers not only enjoy a high-quality snack but also contribute directly to the well-being of farmers in remote rural communities and support a sustainable environment. GS1 Cambodia stated its commitment to supporting its members by promoting the use of standard technology and fostering participation in robust business networks to pave the way for continued success.

PHNOM PENH: July 15, 2025, the Vietnam-Cambodia Business Networking Conference 2025 convened in Ho Chi Minh City, marking a significant step forward in strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

The conference, a collaborative initiative by the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnam-Cambodia Business Federation, brought together a substantial gathering of over 200 attendees, including Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and Chair of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council-Cambodia, who led a delegation from the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce, alongside senior leaders from the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce and numerous Cambodian and Vietnamese business professionals.

The core result of this high-level event was a tangible commitment to strengthen economic ties, promote bilateral trade and investment, and explore broader markets for Cambodian products. This forward-looking agenda was underscored by the setting of ambitious and encouraging goals. Neak Oknha Kith Meng articulated the shared aspiration for the two countries to achieve a total bilateral trade volume of $20 billion in the coming year, signaling a strong intent to build upon recent successes.

Discussions at the conference prominently featured Vietnam’s significant contribution as a major investor in Cambodia. Neak Oknha Kith Meng highlighted that Vietnam stands as one of the top five foreign investors in Cambodia, with over 200 projects worth nearly 3 billion VND spanning critical sectors such as agriculture, telecommunications, banking, finance, food processing, mining, aviation, and tourism.

This substantial investment underscores the deep economic engagement between the two nations. Furthermore, Neak Oknha Kith Meng actively encouraged Vietnamese companies to invest in Cambodia and build on the strong ties and real business initiatives that emerged from the discussions at the conference.

Oknha Leng Rithy, Chairman of the Vietnam–Cambodia Business Association (VCBA), expressed his profound hope for continued robust development. He emphasized that with the close attention and coordination of the governments of both countries, specifically the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, Vietnamese enterprises operating in Cambodia will continue to flourish. This growth, he noted, will contribute positively to the socio-economic development of both countries and further strengthen the traditional friendly relations between Vietnam and Cambodia.

The conference also served as a platform for mutual appreciation and future collaboration. The President of the Vietnam-Cambodia Business Association paid tribute to Neak Oknha Kith Meng, urging him to continue to strengthen ties so that Vietnamese enterprises can invest in Cambodia and Cambodian enterprises can invest in Vietnam to benefit and exploit the strengths of the two countries for mutual development.

Crucially, the conference acknowledged the robust trajectory of bilateral trade. In 2024, the bilateral trade volume between Cambodia and Vietnam significantly increased, reaching more than 10 billion US dollars, a remarkable 53.34% increase compared to the previous year.

This impressive growth provides a solid foundation for achieving the ambitious target for the next few years for the trade volume between the two countries to reach $20 billion, a goal strongly reaffirmed during the conference.

The Vietnam-Cambodia Business Networking Conference 2025 thus concluded with a clear roadmap for enhanced economic cooperation and a strong sense of optimism for the future of bilateral trade and investment.

“This occasion is an opportunity to promote GS1, a barcode system that manages products before they are sold in national and international markets, because the barcode is very important in identifying products from Cambodia,” said His Excellency Oknha Nguon Mengtech. He emphasized the importance of the 884 country code, stating that even when Cambodian products are sold in the US or Europe, a simple scan reveals their origin.

Also speaking at yesterday’s launch seminar, Mrs. Chhan Seang Hen, Deputy CEO of GS1 Cambodia, outlined the fair’s objectives: 1) promoting Cambodian products; 2) raising awareness of product labeling, standards, and production systems; 3) providing access to information on business financing and insurance; and 4) fostering connections and expanding business partnerships.

He stressed the organic and natural quality of many Cambodian agricultural products, highlighting the need for international promotion.

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia approved 64 new investment projects and 4 production expansion projects worth in total US$748 million in January this year, generating almost 46,000 jobs for the locals, said a report of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) released on Wednesday.

The number of approved investment projects rose by 112 percent while the investment capital increased by 300 percent, the source added.

The outstanding projects are found mainly in the fields of metal processing, garage equipment and tire production, vehicle assembly, aluminum processing, and so on.

China remained the biggest foreign investor in the country during the above-said period, accounting for over 73 percent of the total investment capital, followed by domestic investors for 13 percent, stated the report, adding that other foreign investors were from Vietnam, Cayman Islands, UK, Singapore, Samoa, the US, Anguilla, and Malaysia.

Mr. Lim Heng, Vice-President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, viewed the growth of the FDI flows to the trade agreements, huge market under the mega Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement and several trade preference schemes offered by developed countries such as the US, and the UK as well as the EU.

“With the bilateral and multilateral trade pacts coupled with trade preference schemes, we are confident that Cambodia will continue to be a preferred destination for investments in the region,” he said.

The post Cambodia Approves US$748 Million Investment Projects in January first appeared on Estatedia | Economy & Real Estate Media in Cambodia.
