Wilmar International group wishes to explore investment opportunity in agriculture in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH: – a Singaporean food processing and investment holding company with more than 300 subsidiary companies – is interested in exploring investment opportunities in the agriculture sector in Cambodia.

This information was shared by Mr. Kuok Khoon Hong, Chairman and CEO of Wilmar International
Group, when he paid a courtesy call on Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2024 in Davos, Switzerland yesterday.

In the meeting, Mr. Kuok Khoon Hong said his company is looking for an investment opportunity to invest in the agricultural sector mainly in rice and sugarcane growing with the entire production chain, including cultivation, harvesting, processing, packaging, and exporting to international markets.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet welcomed the company's intention to invest in Cambodia's agriculture sector, which is a potential and a priority sector of the 7th-mandate to improve the people's living standard.
