VINCI airports unveils plan on building KOS’ new terminal

PHNOM PENH: French airport developer, VINCI Airports, which invests in Cambodia International Airports, will build a new terminal at Sihanoukville International Airport, bearing the IATA code ‘KOS’, which will be operational in 2026.

Mr. Emmanuel MENANTEAU, regional director of VINCI Airports, mentioned the airport development project during a courtesy call on H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) in Phnom Penh on Feb. 1, according to a CDC’s statement issued on Friday.

“The project on building a new terminal is scheduled to be completed in 2026,” Mr. Emmanuel MENANTEAU said. In the meeting, he also sought a recommendation from the Deputy Prime Minister regarding the airport investment project in Cambodia.

VINCI Airports has approximately 25 years of experience in Cambodia investing in airport projects, including Phnom Penh International Airport, Siem Reap International Airport, and Sihanoukville International Airport.

The three international airports have handled a total of 4.11 million air passengers in the January-October period of 2023, a year-on-year increase of 144 percent, according to a State Secretariat of Civil Aviation’s report.

The company is a subsidiary of VINCI Group, a leading investor in concession projects covering services such as VINCI Airports, VINCI Highways, VINCI Railways, VINCI Construction, VINCI Transport Infrastructure, and VINCI Energy.
