US firms intent to invest in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH: A delegation of recently visited Cambodia to study potential investment opportunities. The investors wanted to learn more about the local market and assess the viability of investing in Cambodia's growing economy.

This remark was made while H.E Buon Sarak Mony, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, and a representative of His Excellency Pan Sosak, Minister of Commerce, met with a delegation of US investors led by H.E Huot Kimcha, Honorary Consul General of Cambodia, based in Long Beach, California.

The delegation learned more about investment opportunities in Cambodia. At the same time, the US delegation praised Cambodia's prestige, particularly its agricultural products, such as Cambodian rice, which has been ranked first for five years in a row.

The Secretary of State also strongly encouraged US companies to invest in Cambodia, as well as to collaborate with local partners to develop the Cambodian economy.

He also briefed on Cambodia's favorable investment climate, as well as the procedures for proposing the establishment of companies, factories, banks, and high incentives for investment in Cambodia's health sector, which has high-demand markets.

The meeting was seen as a positive development in the economic relationship between Cambodia and the United States, and both sides expressed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and promoting trade and investment between the two countries.
