Toyota to establish a plant in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH: On September 28, Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio stated briefly during a working meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen that Japan will establish a plant in Cambodia.

In addition to addressing Cambodia's Prime Minister, Japan's Prime Minister requested that the Prime Minister support other Japanese companies doing business in Cambodia.

The Japanese Prime Minister's remarks came after (CDC)  on September 8, approved Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing's application to establish an assembly plant.

It is located in the Royal Group Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone with a capital of more than $ 36 million and more than 100 Cambodians employed.

According to a Toyota management source in Cambodia, the company decided to set up a factory to assemble cars in Cambodia because the company sees an increase in demand for new cars in Cambodia in recent years.
