The impact of provincial roads no.146B and 148 boost Sihanoukville infrastructures

PHNOM PENH: Provincial Road No. 146B spans a length of 20.67 km. This road starts at the separation point of No. 4 at km 178 + 165 in Veal Thom village, Veal Renh commune, Prey Nob district. Its endpoint is the Stung Hav roundabout in Village 1, Otres Commune, Stung Hav District.

Provincial Road No. 148 stretches over a distance of 22.34 km. It begins at the Stung Hav roundabout in Village 1, Otres Commune, Stung Hav District, and leads to the intersection of National Road No. 4 at km 225 + 550, near the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port.

The groundbreaking ceremony for these roads took place on August 29th, 2019, and their official inauguration was on December 22nd, 2022. The construction was carried out by the China Bridge and Road Corporation (CRBC), while the Technical Working Group of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport served as the technical control unit. The total construction budget exceeded $76 million and was funded by the National Savings Package.

These interconnected roads play a significant role in connecting the city to its suburbs, tourist areas, natural beaches, and the Phnom Penh-Krong Preah Expressway. They also link National Road 4 to the 37 roads in Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk province. As a result, these roads greatly facilitate transportation, travel, and tourism.

Sihanoukville has tremendous potential for attracting foreign investors to develop construction and infrastructure. The province is experiencing a similar urban development trend as Phnom Penh, characterized by a high level of competitiveness in the construction of tall buildings.

Furthermore, in addition to the provincial roads and other infrastructures, travel to Phnom Penh has become more convenient for both people and the transportation of goods for export and import. This convenience is largely attributed to , which has been in operation for nearly a year now.
