The 3rd Ring Road reached 76.87% to complete by next September

PHNOM PENH: The third ring road (National Road No. 4 – National Road No. 2) has reached 76.87 percent of its total length and is scheduled to complete in early September 2023.

According to the Project Implementation Unit’s (PIU) Third Ring Road progress report, 72.46 percent of the road work is completed, 69.90 percent of the flyover is completed, and the bridge work is completed. 95.98 percent of the time.

The ring road begins at km 14 + 105 in Chompou Voan village, Sangkat Choam Chao 3, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh, and connects to Tumnup Kob Srov Road, National Road No. 5. Victory Road and National Road 6 will be combined to form a new large and modern ring road to serve the transportation sector between Phnom Penh and the surrounding areas.

This ring road also connects to National Roads Nos. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 21, crossing the Bassac River and Koh Anlong Chen before terminating at National Road No. 1 at km 24 + 840. Kandal province, Sdao Kanleang village, Dei Edth commune, Kien Svay district (Main road).

Furthermore, the line connects to the new container terminal of the Phnom Penh Autonomous Port in Kien Svay district, as well as the ASEAN Highway (AH1 and AH11) and the main corridor (Central Corridor and Corridor) of the Greater Mekong Subregion.

Shanghai Construction Group Co., Ltd. completed the construction of the third ring road project on January 14, 2019. The project will be inspected by Guangzhou Wanan Construction Supervision Co., Ltd. with a total cost of US $ 267.67 million, with a contribution of US $ 5.38 million from the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Royal Government of Cambodia for demining and UXO clearance.
