The RGPPSEZ continues to cement its status as one of Cambodia’s leading industrial zones, demonstrating robust performance and steady growth.

In 2025, Royal Group Phnom Penh SEZ Plc., the Zone’s developer, recorded total sales of US$41.2 million and a net profit of US$8.1 million, representing a healthy net profit margin of 19.7 percent.

Trade activity within the Zone has shown marked expansion, reflecting growing investor confidence and increased industrial operations.

The rise in export values underscores the continued expansion of production capacity and the strengthening of supply chain activities within the Zone.

RGPPSEZ also plays a significant role in employment and socio-economic development in Cambodia. As of February 2026, the Zone provides jobs to 55,935 workers, supporting livelihoods and contributing to the development of a skilled workforce.

Neak Oknha Kith Meng, Chairman of Royal Group Phnom Penh SEZ Plc., said the continued growth and strong performance of RGPPSEZ reflect the confidence of investors and the dedication of all stakeholders within the Zone.

“We are proud to contribute to Cambodia’s economic development by supporting industrial expansion, trade growth, and job creation,” he said.

Neak Oknha Kith Meng also expressed his sincere appreciation to the Royal Government of Cambodia, under the leadership of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, for his unwavering support in maintaining a stable and business-friendly environment. “This strong partnership has been instrumental in attracting investment and driving sustainable economic progress for the country,” he underlined.

The post RGPPSEZ Reports Strong Growth as Exports Surge in First Two Months first appeared on Estatedia | Economy & Real Estate Media in Cambodia.

PHNOM PENH: Exports from the Royal Group Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone (RGPPSEZ) reached US$2.14 billion in 2025, accounted for 7 percent of Cambodia’s total export value, according to an RGPPSEZ report released last week.

The performance comes amid a broader expansion of Cambodia’s export sector over the past five years, driven by industrial diversification, improved infrastructure and deeper integration into regional and global supply chains.

Cambodia’s total exports climbed to more than US$31 billion in 2025, up sharply from just over US$19 billion in 2021, despite global economic uncertainty during the period.

Exports generated by 91 manufacturing companies from 15 countries operating in the zone more than tripled between 2021 and 2025, reflecting rising foreign investment and expanding production capacity.

The manufacturers operating in RGPPSEZ span a wide range of industries, including electronics, automotive parts, garments, footwear and other light manufacturing, highlighting Cambodia’s gradual shift away from reliance on a single export sector.

The diversification is seen by analysts as critical to improving the country’s resilience to external shocks and sustaining long-term growth.

As of December 2025, the zone employed over 55,000 workers, contributing to household incomes, skills development and inclusive economic growth, the report said.

RGPPSEZ expressed appreciation for the support of the Royal Government of Cambodia, particularly Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister, for policies aimed at strengthening industrial development and maintaining a stable investment environment.

Neak Okhna Kith Meng, Chairman of RGPPSEZ, said the company remains committed to sustainable and long-term development.

“True strength lies not only in improving ourselves, but also in contributing to peace, unity and stability, especially during this critical time for Cambodia,” he said.

The company said it plans to expand new special economic zones in other provinces from 2026 onward, as part of an effort to further enhance Cambodia’s export competitiveness, broaden industrial development and create employment opportunities for thousands more workers.

The post Exports from RGPPSEZ Hit US$2.14 Billion in 2025 first appeared on Estatedia | Economy & Real Estate Media in Cambodia.

This initiative follows a meeting between Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on May 16, 2024.

The meeting, held on Thursday, June 20th, was led by Deputy Prime Minister and Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, Sun Chanthol. Ambassador Park Jung-Wook represented the Korean Embassy.

Also present were Cambodian ministers of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, Mines and Energy, along with specialists from relevant ministries.

The Cambodian team highlighted the country’s strong potential for SEZ development. They expressed their desire to collaborate with the Korean Embassy to promote the project and its benefits to potential Korean investors.

This collaboration would include sharing information about the Cambodian government’s support for the SEZ and the streamlined investment process available.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his willingness to send a special delegation to Korea to provide more details and showcase the full support offered by the Cambodian government.

Special Economic Zones (SEZs) of Cambodia are geographical areas within Cambodia’s borders that have been specially designated by the national government in which business and trade regulations could differ from those that apply to the rest of the country. SEZs are established to meet the needs of the specific business environment including basic infrastructure and abundant employment resources and logistics functions.

According to the General Department Of Logistics’s data, there have been 570 investment projects in SEZs with a total employment of more than 161, 000 workers. The majority of investors are from Cambodia, Japan, China, Thailand and Taiwan.

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia-China trade remained robust amid weakening global demand, thanks to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement and the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement (CCFTA), a senior official and experts said on Friday.

Trade in goods between Cambodia and China topped 10 billion U.S. dollars in the first 10 months of 2023, up 4.6 percent year-on-year, according to figures released by Cambodia’s General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE).

China remained the biggest trading partner of Cambodia, followed by the United States, Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan, the report said.

Cambodian Ministry of Commerce’s Secretary of State and Spokesperson Penn Sovicheat said RCEP and the CCFTA, which both came into force last year, had given a boost to this growth.

“With the two free trade agreements, our made-in-Cambodia products have been exported to China with preferential tariffs,” he told Xinhua.

Sovicheat said China is a huge market for Cambodia, especially for its potential agricultural products such as milled rice, yellow bananas, mangoes, longans, and pepper, among others.

“Thanks to the close relationship between our two countries, I believe that our bilateral trade volume will continue to rise throughout this year and next years,” he said.

According to the GDCE figures, Cambodia’s total international trade volume was valued at 38.66 billion dollars during the first 10 months of this year, a drop of 3.1 percent from 39.9 billion dollars in the corresponding period last year.

Kin Phea, director-general of the International Relations Institute of Cambodia, a think-tank under the Royal Academy of Cambodia, agreed that RCEP and the CCFTA have injected vigorous momentum into the Cambodia-China trade amid global economic slowdown and uncertainties.

“These FTAs have enormously boosted economic, commercial, and investment cooperation between Cambodia and China, as they have opened up new market access for Cambodian products to China and other RCEP member countries,” he told Xinhua.

“China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) projects such as the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone and the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway have also greatly promoted Cambodia’s trade with China and the rest of the world,” he added.

Phea said the sharp growth in Cambodia’s exports to China demonstrated the strong economic relationship between the two countries.

“Despite global challenges, the trade volume has continued to expand, indicating the resilience of their trade partnership,” he said.

Seun Sam, a policy analyst at the Royal Academy of Cambodia, said the BRI has played a significant role in strengthening trade relations between China and Cambodia.

“With improved infrastructure and logistical capabilities and free trade agreements, Cambodia has become an attractive destination for international investors and businesses looking to expand their presence in the region,” he told Xinhua.

“The increased bilateral trade volume has resulted in a more diversified economy and helped Cambodia develop its energy, telecommunications, financial, logistics, tourism and agricultural sectors,” he added.

The post Cambodia-China trade stays robust amid weakening global demand first appeared on Estatedia | Economy & Real Estate Media in Cambodia.

PHNOM PENH: The Cambodian Special Economic Zone Board, or CSEZB, first introduced SEZs in 2005. Since then it is regarded as one of the measures to improve the investment climate in Cambodia for both domestic and foreign firms.

Cambodian Special Economic Zones are strategically prepared zones where any business can operate with easy access to transportation infrastructure. The SEZ’s export output has increased significantly over the last few years. SEZs are located in the best possible location to help your business thrive and become a success story.

So far, the country has 24 SEZs operating with 561 investment projects and employing more than 160 000 locals, but there are four major SEZs to be seen this year with significant investment opportunities.

1. Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone (SSEZ)

Operates the 11.13 square kilometer special economic zone on Cambodia’s southern coast, which is the largest in terms of size and occupancy in the Kingdom.

2. Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone (PPSEZ)

Founded in 2006, is home to over 100 tenant companies. Cambodia is an appealing country to invest in because of its proximity to Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos, making it a strategic location for logistics and boasting comparatively low wages. As a result, many businesses see Cambodia as an ideal location to diversify their operations.

3. Manhattan Special Economic Zone (MSEZ)

Is the premier destination for investors looking to enter the Cambodian market. Since 2005, the MSEZ has been a key driver of Cambodia’s long-term development, mutual benefit, and co-prosperity. MSEZ, which covers 400 hectares, employs over 36,000 people. Invest in the MSEZ and enjoy the unparalleled economic benefits of Cambodia’s first and foremost special economic zone.

4. Tai Seng SEZ

Located in Bavet, offers over 65 hectares of land with road, electrical, and water infrastructure. The SEZ is ideal for industrial and manufacturing needs because it is located along the main road and very close to the border with Vietnam.

The post Cambodia’s top 4 special economic zones for investors first appeared on Estatedia | Economy & Real Estate Media in Cambodia.
