PHNOM PENH: Singapore’s Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Lawrence Wong, began a one-day official visit to Cambodia this morning. He is visiting at the invitation of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.
Upon arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport, Prime Minister Wong and his spouse were greeted by Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, who is serving as Minister-in-Attendance.

According to a press release from Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Prime Minister Wong’s itinerary includes a Royal Audience with His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, at the Royal Palace. He is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia.
A key part of the visit will be a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Hun Manet at the Peace Palace. The two leaders are expected to have in-depth discussions on how to further strengthen the long-standing relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between Cambodia and Singapore.
Cambodia and Singapore engage in robust trade. Cambodia’s key exports include agricultural products, garments, and electronic components, while Singapore’s main exports are fuel, industrial chemicals, and electronics. In 2024, two-way trade between the nations reached $901 million, with Cambodian exports accounting for $103 million of that total.
This visit holds special significance as it coincides with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Singapore.
