SFD to provide financial assistance for Cambodian agriculture and infrastructure

PHNOM PENH: The Saudi Fund for Development () has expressed its support for the Cambodian government's plan for agriculture and physical infrastructure development.

This was announced during a meeting last week between Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and SFD CEO Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council Summit.

Prime Minister Hun Manet invited Al-Marshad to visit Cambodia to further discuss this issue with relevant ministries and institutions. He also mentioned the potential for cooperation between the two countries in the areas of investment, tourism, and renewable energy, especially agriculture.

Al-Marshad congratulated Hun Manet on his assumption of office as Prime Minister of Cambodia and informed him that the SFD has always contributed to the promotion of sustainable growth in developing countries, particularly in the areas of education, sports, health, and transport.

This financial assistance from the SFD is a significant development for Cambodia, as it will help the country achieve its agricultural and infrastructure development goals. These sectors are essential for Cambodia's economic growth and poverty reduction.
