PHNOM PENH: South Korean investors are interested in expanding their automotive investment in Cambodia following successful existing investment in the country.

The intention was revealed in a meeting between representatives from Camko Infracore of S. Korea and senior Cambodian officials here in Phnom Penh on Jan. 9.

The Cambodian officials welcomed the expansion of automotive investment, underscoring that the presence of the “Korea Desk” will further build the confidence of other investors from S. Korea to do business in Cambodia.

They also asked the S. Korean side to join in establishing the Cambodia-S. Korea's special economic zone as an industrial cluster complex to better facilitate S. Korean investors and enterprises in Cambodia.

The S. Korean delegation supported the initiative and promised to discuss it with concerned players in S. Korea.
