PHNOM PENH: The Preah Sihanouk Province Investment Promotion Working Group, in collaboration with the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration, is set to host two major investment forums in China, aiming to spotlight the burgeoning investment opportunities within Cambodia’s designated Multi-Purpose Special Economic Zone (MPSEZ). These events, taking place on June 6th and 7th, 2025, will serve as a crucial platform to draw global investors to Preah Sihanouk Province.
The first event, the “Preah Sihanouk Investment Forum” is scheduled for today, June 6th, in Huangshan, Anhui Province. This will be followed by the “Jiangsu-Preah Sihanouk Investment Cooperation Conference” held tomorrow, June 7th, at the Nanjing Grand Hotel in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. Both forums are strategically designed to inform potential investors about the array of opportunities in Preah Sihanouk, emphasizing its strategic regional benefits, robust infrastructure, streamlined facilitation mechanisms, and the significant special incentives provided by the Royal Government of Cambodia under the Special Program to Promote Investment in Preah Sihanouk Province.
Leading the Cambodian delegation is Dr. Hean Sahib, Advisor to Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Prime Minister and Chairman of the Preah Sihanouk Province Investment Promotion Working Group. He is accompanied by a distinguished team including H.E. Mang Sineth, Governor of Preah Sihanouk Province; H.E. Im Sokthy, Chief Secretariat of the Preah Sihanouk Province Investment Promotion Working Group; H.E. Chea Kok Hong, Secretariat Director of Coastal Master Plan; and H.E. Nguon Visoth, Consul General of Cambodia in Shanghai.
The delegation will deliver key presentations on vital topics, including the Master Plan for the Development of Preah Sihanouk into a Multi-Purpose Model Special Economic Zone, the extended Special Program to Promote Investment in Preah Sihanouk Province 2024 (now through 2025), the future development plans for Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, the growth of Industrial Parks within the province, and the expansion of the Sihanoukville SEZ. Each forum will conclude with a dedicated Q&A session and networking opportunities.
As an MPSEZ, Preah Sihanouk Province offers investors access to existing crucial infrastructure such as deep-water ports, airports, and roads, alongside expanding market access within Cambodia and across ASEAN. The forums will underscore the province’s significant investment potential across various sectors, including logistics, tourism, construction, and manufacturing.
“With the strong ties between China and Cambodia, as well as between Anhui, Jiangsu, and other provinces of China with Preah Sihanouk Province of Cambodia, we are poised for mutual growth,” stated a representative from the Working Group. “The Cambodian government is committed to establishing this region as a premier hub for industry and investment.”
The Preah Sihanouk Province Investment Promotion Working Group and the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration are actively working with various partners to explore cooperation and investment opportunities, both presently and in the future.
