NA supports Cambodia-Vietnam highway and railway connection

: The Cambodian National Assembly (NA) has expressed its support to the Cambodian and Vietnamese governments' highway and railway connection plan, recently initiated by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia.

The support was underlined by H.E. Vong Sauth, Second NA Vice President while receiving here at the Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra this morning , Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia.

“This is another new development and we hope that the two countries will attain the said achievement soon to promote joint development,” he said.

H.E. Vong Sauth also spoke highly of the historical relations and good cooperation in all areas between both neighboring nations, especially between their legislative bodies, recalling the joint field visit by the Cambodian, Vietnamese, and Lao NAs to the Development Triangle Area (DTA) to find out the needs of the people living in the provinces along the three countries' borders in order to turn the DTA into an area of development and cooperation.

For his part, H.E. Nguyen Huy Tang suggested the exchange of high-level visits between Cambodian-Vietnamese legislative bodies, the strengthening and expansion of cooperation, and the establishment of new mechanisms.

H.E. Ambassador also requested the Cambodian NA to boost the implementation of agreements reached between both governments and to continue cooperating on education campaigns so that the younger generation can understand the relationship between the two nations. AKP
