India plans to launch direct flight to Cambodia by the end of October

PHNOM PENH: For people-to-people connectivity, Cambodia and India are planning to launch a direct flight between the two countries by the end of October 2023, H.E. Ms. Devyani Uttam Khobragade, Indian Ambassador to Cambodia while paying a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this morning.

The move will boost the tourism and trade potential as well as other related sectors, the H.E. Ambassador told Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet in the meeting.

H.E. Ms. Devyani Uttam Khobragade said in the field of trade, both countries have been negotiating bilateral trade preferences, and in the future, more free trade agreements will be negotiated.

Besides, she added, India is also planning to expand the scope of technology to support the development of the digital economy in Cambodia.

The Indian diplomat also laid stress on the military cooperation of the two nations and congratulated the Royal Government of Cambodia on its achievements. She also highlighted some remarks on the historical and cultural relations and so on.

On that occasion, H.E. Ms. Devyani Uttam Khobragade invited Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet to pay another official visit to India to strengthen and expand the relationship between the two countries and peoples to be closer and more stable.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said Cambodia-India cooperation is on the path of continuous development.

The Cambodian Premier thanked the government and people of India for their support to Cambodia in all areas of development, including economy, trade, culture, and defense. He also expressed the hope that the two countries would further expand the existing cooperation in the fields of , cyber security, and other areas of mutual benefit.
