PHNOM PENH: On Friday afternoon of March 3rd, 2023, ID Investors Association “IDI” and ID Capital Plc. “IDC” with collaboration and support from Khmer Enterprise “KE” and the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia “AmCham” hosted an orientation meeting for the delegates who will be attending the “Cambodian Delegation Visit to the United States”.

The meeting was honored by Dr. Hor Sereyvath, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IDI and IDC, Mr. An Moses, Economic & Commercial Counselor at the US Embassy to Cambodia, H.E. Chea Kok Hong, Secretariat Director of Entrepreneurship Development Fund, H.E. Dr. Chheang Vanmunin, CEO of Khmer Enterprise, Oknha Lim Socheat, Vice President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, and attended by IDI and IDC's Members of the Board of Directors and the delegates.

Dr. Sereyvath claimed that the Delegation Visit to the United States is the follow-up activity to the seminar hosted by IDI in December 2022, intended to further enhance food exports from Cambodia to the US. He mentioned, “the food export seminar was a huge success but it was just one of a series of business activities that IDI intends to conduct to support Cambodian entrepreneurship and SMEs Ecosystem”. He added, “this business trip will add more flavor to the already ongoing discussion between some Cambodian manufacturers and US buyers/brokers, and hopefully some trading transaction will happen soon”.

Mr. An Moses praised IDI's efforts in organizing the visit and expressed his support as well as encouragement for the delegation members not only to bring Cambodian products to the event but to explore US products that could potentially be imported back to Cambodia to boost bilateral trade between the two countries.

H.E Chea Kong Hong shared his thought that on top of gaining a global experience by attending the “Natural Product Expo West” event, the delegates should strive to observe the packaging design and quality of the products that will be exhibited at the expo to establish a ground understanding of the widely accepted practice in the US.

Meanwhile, H.E. Dr. Chhieng Vanmunin also expressed his appreciation that KE could be part of the seminar in December 2022 and the promising visit. He urged that KE will continue to extend its support as well as collaboration with IDI and other development partners to help boost the SME ecosystem, particularly food manufacturing, and export.

As part of the program's founding objective, IDI will bring Cambodian product samples to the United States which include rice, pepper, cashew, modified cashew snack, health powder extract from cashew, banana and turmeric, fish sauce, soy sauce, dried fish and dried mango.

(IDC), Khmer Enterprise (KE) and the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (AmCham), the Cambodian Delegation Visit to the United States on 7-13 March 2023 provides an opportunity for the delegation members to participate in the 41st industry's largest trade show in Anaheim, California, USA, entitled “Natural Products Expo West” which is a marketplace for over 2,700 exhibitors and over 57,000 registered attendee around the globe to engage, experience and exchange business through the face-to-face exhibition. On top of attending the expo, a visit to the Port of Los Angeles, followed by a closed-door business matchmaking with potential US buyers will make the visit agenda.
