Hong Kong vows to become Cambodia’s investment and business partner

PHNOM PENH: Hong Kong will be a major partner for Cambodia in tapping into its enormous business and investment potential, as it is prepared to collaborate closely with Cambodia to seize unprecedented business opportunities. According to the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development in Hong Kong.

According to a source close to Asean Property, Hong Kong’s Secretary of Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau met with Cambodian businesses last weekend to promote Hong Kong’s business opportunities after attending the event. Cambodia will host the 6th ASEAN-Hong Kong-China Economic Ministers Meeting.

Yau emphasized that Hong Kong will continue to promote its distinct strengths as an international business hub, as well as strive to become a regional intellectual property trade center and one of Asia’s leading telecommunications hubs.

“We are prepared to collaborate closely with our regional partners, including Cambodian partners, to capitalize on unprecedented business opportunities,” he said.

He went on to say that, with a low and simple tax system, a market-oriented and international business environment, and a free trade agreement with ASEAN, Hong Kong would be an important partner for Cambodia in tapping into its vast business potential.

Yau also paid visits to two Hong Kong enterprises with large businesses to gain a better understanding of Cambodia’s development and investment opportunities.
