PHNOM PENH: On Thursday, June 12, 2025, His Excellency Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), welcomed a delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce in South China.
The delegation was led by Dr. Harley Seyedin, who serves as President of the First Washington Group, President of Allelon Energy Partners, and President of the American Chamber of Commerce in South China. Dr. Seyedin is also notably a recipient of both the Oslo Business for Peace Award and the Peace through Trade Medal, awarded by the Nobel Peace Prize Committee.
The meeting was initiated at the request of the American Chamber of Commerce in South China, which identified promising investment opportunities and potential within Cambodia’s key economic sectors.
During the discussion, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He then provided an overview of the CDC’s mandate, focusing on its role in managing private investments and special economic zones. He also emphasized the CDC’s ongoing efforts to enhance Cambodia’s investment climate through the digitalization of public services.
The Deputy Prime Minister further highlighted Cambodia’s strengths, including its sustained peace and political stability, macroeconomic stability, and the government’s strong commitment to fostering private sector growth. He also pointed to the country’s robust infrastructure connectivity, young workforce, and investor-friendly investment laws as key advantages.
In response, Dr. Seyedin expressed his appreciation for the Royal Government of Cambodia’s dedication to maintaining and building investor confidence. He also conveyed his sincere gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol for the opportunity to meet and discuss potential investment opportunities in Cambodia.
