PHNOM PENH: H.E. HEM Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI), on May 10received representatives from Hainan Litree Purifying Technology Co., Ltd. and discussed the company’s interest in expanding its investment in Cambodia’s clean water sector.
According to MISTI, during the meeting, Dr. Cai Yunlong, Chief Executive Officer of Hainan Litree Purifying Technology, reported that established in 1992, the company is renowned for its expertise in membrane technology as it has established a global footprint with distribution agents operating in multiple countries.
The company’s flagship “Litree Brand” water purification equipment is widely acclaimed for its efficacy in municipal water supply, industrial water reuse, and household drinking water purification, benefitting over 3 million households globally, he added.
In Cambodia, he continued, Litree’s UF membrane products are currently deployed across various provinces and cities, contributing to a drinking water treatment scale of 11,000 m³/d. Looking ahead, the company plans to inject US$50-100 million into Cambodia’s water supply industry over the next 3-5 years.
Minister Vanndy welcomed the company’s initiative to expand its investment in Cambodia’s potable water supply, particularly in underserved areas lacking access to public or private water services.
Emphasising MISTI’s dedication to promoting technology adoption across public and private sectors, Minister Vanndy encouraged Litree to explore opportunities for bulk water supply to private water operators, leveraging their technological prowess and proven track record.
Through this meeting, Hainan Litree expressed its commitment to contribute to addressing clean water issues and preserving water resources through innovative membrane systems, containerised solutions, and public water safety services, aligning with Cambodia’s goals for sustainable development and environmental stewardship.
