Cambodia Achieves Over 130,000 Tonnes of Rice Exports in First Two Months of 2025

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia has exported more than 130,000 tonnes of milled rice in the first two months of 2025, generating approximately US$106 million, according to the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF).

The exports, facilitated by 44 companies, reached 51 destinations worldwide, as reported on Mar. 12.

The CRF detailed that China and its autonomous regions imported 16,500 tonnes of Cambodian rice, valued at US$10.47 million. Meanwhile, 25 European countries accounted for the largest share, importing 73,048 tonnes worth US$58.53 million.

Four ASEAN member states bought 23,297 tonnes, valued at US$16.66 million, while 20 other destinations in Africa and the Middle East imported 22,229 tonnes, amounting to US$19.87 million.

Additionally, neighbouring countries imported 1,382,115 tonnes of paddy rice, contributing to a total paddy export value of US$313.22 million.

The exported rice varieties included fragrant rice, which dominated at 86.03 percent, followed by long-grain white rice at 8.65 percent, parboiled rice at 2.99 percent, and organic rice at 1.87 percent.

This strong performance underscores Cambodia’s growing presence in the global rice market, bolstered by diverse export destinations and a robust range of rice varieties.
