PHNOM PENH: The “Draft bills on inland waterway and ports transportation” was discussed to expedite the next steps in the inter-ministerial meeting and prepare it for submission to the cabinet.

On March 13, 2023, Senior Minister Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), presided over a meeting with relevant leaders and officials to review the draft bills on inland waterways and port transportation.

The purpose of this meeting is to continue discussing and passing on the content of “Draft bills on inland waterways and port transportation” to ensure the development of the waterway transport sector and port management improvements and capable of providing dependable, safe, and secure navigation services, as well as competing with regional and international ports.

The meeting discussed and exchanged ideas on revising the wording, phrases, and terminology definitions in the draft bills, which then finally will also be submitted for review to the Council of Ministers.
