PHNOM PENH: November 14, 2024 – ARK Electronics Group, a major Chinese company, announced plans to invest over $1.3 billion in a new industrial park in Kampong Speu Province, Cambodia. The ambitious project, spanning 1,000 hectares of land, aims to establish Kampong Speu as a regional hub for manufacturing and technology.

The Governor of Kampong Speu Province, Dr. Cheam Chansophorn, welcomed ARK Electronics Group’s investment, highlighting the potential for job creation and economic growth. The project is expected to provide employment opportunities for skilled workers, particularly those with expertise in technology and manufacturing.

, CEO of ARK Electronics Group, expressed her company’s commitment to Cambodia, particularly Kampong Speu Province. She envisions the province as the headquarters for ARK Electronics Group’s operations in Cambodia, Southeast Asia, and internationally. The company’s subsidiary, Huacam Group, is currently undergoing legal registration in Cambodia to facilitate this investment.

The proposed industrial park will focus on several strategic areas to drive economic growth and industrial development. Key areas of focus include agricultural product processing, emphasizing the promotion and enhancement of Cambodian brands to strengthen the local agricultural sector and create value-added products. Additionally, the park will prioritize electronics manufacturing, specifically the production of components and semi-finished chips, catering to the growing global demand for advanced technology and supporting the integration of Cambodia into international supply chains. Furthermore, the park will host supporting industries, such as packaging, logistics, and machinery manufacturing, to provide essential services and bolster the broader production chain, ensuring a robust ecosystem for sustainable industrial growth.

The project which has about 14 industrial parks built on an area of ​​about 1,000 hectares, with an investment of more than 1.3 billion US dollars and a total workforce of more than 3,000 workers.

ARK Electronics Group plans to implement cutting-edge technology, including AI and industrial automation, to enhance efficiency and productivity. The company’s goal is to transform Kampong Speu into a modern, technology-driven province, comparable to cities like Shenzhen or Zhongguancun in China.

To further strengthen the partnership, ARK Electronics Group and the provincial administration are set to sign a memorandum of understanding to explore potential collaborations in renewable energy, specifically wind power.
