PHNOM PENH: On the afternoon of October 20, 2023, H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), met with Mr. Put Lee, Chairman of Xinyi Energy and Vice Chairman of Xinyi Solar Company in Shenzhen, China.

Mr. Put Lee praised the quality of Cambodia's sand, which is an important component of glass production. He noted that Xinyi Energy can produce both ordinary glass and solar glass, which can extract solar energy.

H.E. Sun Chanthol pointed out the investment opportunities of the company to set up a factory in Cambodia to supply glass for the local market since Cambodia has high-quality sand suitable for the glass production line.

He also invited Mr. Put Lee to visit Cambodia to learn more about the economic potential and investment opportunities in the country.

Xinyi Solar is one of the largest glass suppliers in China with 11 manufacturing plants nationwide. It produces the world's leading photovoltaic solar glass and has a total daily melting capacity of 21,800 tons as of June 30, 2023.

After the meeting, the company expressed its intention to visit Cambodia in person to learn more about the potential for production and to find opportunities to invest in the country.
