CCC facilitates private sector meeting focus on three key issues

PHNOM PENH: The Cambodian Chamber of Commerce (CCC) facilitated the “Private Sector Working Group Meeting” of the Royal Government-Private Sector Forum (GPSF) on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. The meeting was held at the CCC headquarters in Phnom Penh and was chaired by Duke Kith Meng, President of the CCC.

In attendance were the co-chairs and vice-chairs of the 13 Private Sector Working Groups (PSWGs), as well as representatives from the Technical Working Group on Partnerships, the General Department of Taxation, the Customs Department, and the private sector.

The purpose of the meeting was to:

  • Strengthen and increase the activities of each PSWG to effectively coordinate activities and improve the business and investment environment in Cambodia.
  • Brief the co-chairs on the activities of each PSWG and the future direction of each private working group under the GPSF mechanism.
  • Discuss strengthening cooperation under the GPSF mechanism with relevant dialogue partners in both the private and public sectors.

The meeting was productive and resulted in a number of recommendations for strengthening the work of the PSWGs. The co-chairs agreed to work together to implement these recommendations and to continue to engage with the government on issues important to the private sector.

The meeting ended at 10:40 a.m. in a positive atmosphere, with a renewed commitment to working together to create a better business environment in Cambodia.
