Cambodia’s export to Japan of nearly $2 billion

PHNOM PENH: The bilateral trade between Cambodia and Japan exceeded $2,454 million in 2022, with Cambodia exporting approximately $1,939 million and Japan exporting approximately $515 million.

At the opening ceremony of the “” in Tokyo on May 3, 2023, H.E Chuon Dara, Minister attached to the Prime Minister and Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce showed the progress and reports of the trade sector.

H.E Tuy Ry, Ambassador of Cambodia to Japan, H.E IMAMURA Masahiro, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Japan-Cambodia Parliamentary Alliance, and H.E TAKAGI Kei, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, along with senior officials from both nations and over 200 representatives from diplomats, businessmen, students, and the Cambodian community in Japan also attended the ceremony.

H.E. viewed Cambodia's participation in the Cambodia Expo as a significant contribution to promoting Cambodian products, services, investment projects, and tourism in Japan and gaining recognition in both Japanese and international markets.

Additionally, he revealed that Cambodia is prepared to join the “World Expo 2025” in Osaka, Japan, for six months, which will strengthen and expand diplomatic ties among participating nations and enhance Cambodia's recognition on the international stage.

Entrepreneurs and companies from Cambodia will also use the World Expo 2025 as an opportunity to conduct international trade, investment, and tourism activities.
