Cambodian PM calls financial institutions to restructure loans for Tour Operators in Siem Reap

PHNOM PENH: Cambodian Prime Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet called on here this morning to the financial institutions to restructure loans for tour operators in Siem Reap province at reasonable interest rates to help revive the tourism sector after being severely affected by COVID-19.

Speaking at the 19th Government-Private Sector Forum (G-PSF) held here this morning, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet gave the green light to all banking and financial institutions to restructure loans for their customers in the tourism sector in Siem Reap who have temporary financial problems without provision for 12 months.

The Premier underlined that tourism recovery should start from Siem Reap province, home to the famous Angkor temples.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei said the state-run of Cambodia Plc. will provide a direct loan program with an initial amount of US$50 million to tour operators in Siem Reap with reasonable interest rates along with other favorable conditions.
