Cambodian government commits to 200,000-300,000 new jobs per year

PHNOM PENH: The of Cambodia has made a commitment to generate between 200,000 and 300,000 fresh employment opportunities annually.

Prime Minister Samdech Techo emphasized this pledge at an event where he met with 19,000 workers and employees from 13 companies in Phnom Penh and Kandal province. The meeting was held at the Morodok Techo National Stadium located in Khan Chroy Changvar, Phnom Penh.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen reassured that the administration will endeavor to provide job opportunities to the citizens. He further added that the administration will encourage existing investors to expand their businesses while also attracting new investments to establish factories and businesses that generate job opportunities for the local public.

PM stated that during his five-year term, 1,500,000 job opportunities must be created. He emphasized that at the same time, the government will have to fund vocational training for 1.5 million underprivileged young individuals.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen stressed that these are specific programs that the Royal Government has set forth while striving to enhance road infrastructure, water, and electricity services to entice more investors.
