PHNOM PENH: Last week on January 6, 2024, H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) held a productive meeting with H.E. Wang Luming, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Qingdao People’s Congress, in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China.
The meeting focused on fostering investment opportunities between Cambodia and Qingdao, a major industrial and trading city. Attendees included presidents of several notable Qingdao companies eager to explore the Cambodian market.
H.E. Wang Luming highlighted Qingdao’s strengths, including its bustling port, dynamic economy, diverse industries, and robust research and development infrastructure.
Recognizing the long-standing friendship between Cambodia and China, Deputy Prime Minister Chanthol expressed gratitude for China’s leading role in Cambodian investment. He emphasized the CDC’s crucial role in attracting, facilitating, and supporting investors, aiming to further propel the growth of investment companies in Cambodia.
To gain deeper insights, Deputy Prime Minister Chanthol also visited the factories of three prominent Qingdao companies, offering a valuable firsthand perspective on their operations and potential synergies with Cambodia.
This meeting signifies a promising step towards strengthening economic ties between Cambodia and Qingdao, paving the way for mutually beneficial collaborations and future investments.
