Cambodia welcomes more investment from Japan

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister of , Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, has expressed welcome and support for more investment from Japan in Cambodia.

While receiving here at the Peace Palace this afternoon a delegation of the Japan-Cambodia Association () led by H.E. Takahashi Fumiaki, President of JCA and former Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei also informed the delegation about the attractiveness of Cambodia's new investment law and incentive policies for investors and businessmen.

The Premier thanked the JCA for co-organizing a firework display to celebrate the diplomatic relations between the two countries and thanked the Government and people of Japan for their continued support for the socio-economic development of Cambodia.

For his part, H.E. Takahashi Fumiaki said JCA has been encouraging Japanese small and medium-sized investors to invest in Cambodia in a number of areas, including demining, communication and technical and vocational training, vehicle repair, and nursing.

In addition, he underlined, that the association plans to open in the near future its office in Cambodia to facilitate the process of cooperation between Japanese and Cambodian businesses.

Cambodia and Japan mark this year the 70th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties.
