Cambodia to send trainees to China for the “Construction and Railway Planning” 

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia will send 8 trainees from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport to attend training courses in on “Environmental Conservation and Green Economy” and “Railway Construction and Planning for Southeast and South Asia Countries” this month.

On Tuesday morning, October 10, 2023, at TECHO SEN Institute of Public Works and Transport, H.E. Lau Vann, Secretary of State, and Mr. Wang Peng, First Secretary of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Kingdom of Cambodia, held a meeting with officers of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport who are planning to attend the training courses.

Eight assigned officers are scheduled to attend the two training sessions from October 11 to 31, 2023.

Four participants will participate in the first training course on “Environmental Conservation and Green Economy” organized by the Faculty of Biotechnology Vocational Training from October 11 to 31, 2023 in , Hubei Province.

Separately, 4 other participants will participate in the second training course on “Construction and railways planning for Southeast and South Asia countries” organized by the Training Center of the Ministry of Commerce of China from 18 to 31 October 2023 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.

China has been a key partner in Cambodia's development of infrastructure projects for decades, including hydropower projects, railways, and highways.
