Cambodia-Japan trade reached $1,948 million last year

PHNOM PENH: During the groundbreaking ceremony for the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port's container terminal construction, as well as the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Diplomatic Relations and the 137th anniversary of International Labour Day, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, announced that bilateral trade between Cambodia and Japan had reached US$1,948 million in 2022.

Of the total, Cambodia exported US$1,173 million worth of products to Japan, while Japan's exports to Cambodia were valued at US$774 million.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his optimism that the exports from Cambodia to Japan would continue to grow under H.E. UENO Atsushi's ambassadorship, given that both countries are members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement.

The Prime Minister also expressed his pride in the Cambodia-Japan relationship over the past 70 years, stating that the two countries have entered a new phase of comprehensive strategic partnership.
