Cambodia and China signed three tourism development projects

PHNOM PENH: On October 17, 2023, Duke Kith Meng, President of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council for Cambodia, accompanied Samdech Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to the 3rd for International Cooperation.

He also attended the signing ceremony of three projects organized by the Chinese Investors Association in Cambodia, chaired by Lok Chumteav Cham Nimmol, Minister of Commerce.

The three projects are:

  1. A Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation on Tourism and Other Sector Development Projects in the Sustainable Use Area of ​​Preah Suramarit-Kosomak “Kirirom” National Park in Kampong Speu and Sihanoukville Provinces.
  2. A Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Hospitality Education to Select High School Students in Cambodia to Study in China.
  3. A Memorandum of Understanding on Investment Cooperation on Special Economic Zone Development Project in Ta Nei Village, Ta Nei Commune, Prey Nob District, Preah Sihanouk Province.

Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed confidence that tourism will rebound in Cambodia in 2023. He recently pointed to the fact that Cambodia had already received 3.5 million international tourists in the first eight months of the year, an increase of 50.8% compared to the same period in 2022.

The three projects signed between Cambodia and China are expected to boost tourism development in the country and create jobs for Cambodians.
