Cabinet meeting on the draft of Preah Sihanouk’s Land Use Policy

PHNOM PENH: Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, presided over a meeting of the Council of Ministers at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh on Friday, January 13, 2023.

According to the plan, the Council of Ministers will meet to discuss the draft policy on land management and use to develop Sihanoukville into a multi-purpose special economic zone 2022-2038, chaired by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia.

The following items are on the agenda for this cabinet meeting:

1-Draft of the Public Financial System Law

2-Draft of the Clean Water Management Law

3-Draft of the land use policy for Sihanoukville’s transformation into a multi-purpose model special economic zone for 2022-2038.

4-Draft of the national policy for Cashew products for 2022-2027

5- Other concerns.

This important agenda on Land Use Policy was held after Cambodia held a video consultation meeting with the Institute of Urban Planning and Design (UPDIS), which previously studied and planned the development of Shenzhen in China, to review, update, and discuss key strategic issues and policy priorities in the draft report. The master plan and the draft report of the 12 related sections in the second phase of Sihanoukville’s development plan.

Development of a master plan aimed at transforming Sihanoukville into a multi-purpose model special economic zone by transforming the city into a new development pole and a smart, technologically advanced, and green city, as well as a vibrant commercial, service, and logistics hub in ASEAN to connect Sihanoukville to regional and global production and supply chains.
