Bridge & road construction connected the National Road 7 to begin soon

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) holds a meeting to plan the construction of a bridge across the Mekong River and a road connecting National Road No. 7 to National Road No. 60 B between City and Prek Prosop District in Kratie Province.

On November 28, 2022, Mr. Lim Sidenin, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, presided over a meeting attended by the management and project implementation unit, representatives of Shanghai Construction Company (SCG), and representatives of Guangzhou Wanan Technical Advisory Company, plus a large number of relevant professional officers.

The purpose of this meeting is:

  1. To introduce the Ministry of Public Works and Transport working group to the technical working group of Shanghai Construction Company (SCG) and the technical consulting company for all working groups to establish communication and cooperation smoothly and effectively.
  2. A representative of the construction company to present the study's conclusions on the construction
  3. Establishment of a temporary working group for urgent tasks such as document preparation and the search for a convenient location for the upcoming groundbreaking ceremony

The two projects have a total length of 33.45 km, connecting National Road No. 7 (Tiger Roundabout) to National Road No. 60 B, and include the construction of a 1,761-meter-long bridge across the Mekong River and the connecting road is 15.49 km long, while the road in Kratie city is 16.20 km long.

The project will cost 111.98 million US dollars and will be financed by the People's Republic of China. It will take about 42 months to complete and will be implemented by Shanghai Construction Company (SCG) with quality control provided by Guangzhou Wanan Technical Consulting.
