PHNOM PENH: Eighty-one (81) farming households in Tram Kak district, Takeo province, have been awarded a US$1.2 million grant through the Cambodia Agricultural Sector Diversification Project (CASDP), funded by the World Bank.
The grant, received by the O’ Phut Free-Range Chicken Agricultural Community, will support greenhouse vegetable cultivation and free-range egg-laying chicken farming.

H.E. Khim Finan, Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF), announced the allocation today.
Specifically, US$140,000 will cover 40 percent of investment costs for greenhouse vegetables and chicken farming. A further US$1 million is designated for constructing a 6.4-kilometre paved road within the community.
Households will receive approximately US$2,300 each for vegetable farming initiatives and US$1,200 each for chicken farming support.
The community plans to partner with MAFF to transition into a modern agricultural cooperative. This move aims to provide members access to low-interest start-up capital, standardised technical training, and secure market linkages.
