PHNOM PENH: On Friday, August 1, 2025, H.E. Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the CDC’s Cambodian Investment Board, met with Mr. Kensuke Tsuchiya, President of Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. and a company delegation.
Following welcoming remarks from H.E. Chea Vuthy, Mr. Kensuke Tsuchiya provided an update on the company’s business operations in Cambodia. He then announced the company’s intention to launch an investment project to establish a technical training center for the automotive industry in Cambodia. This new center would be open not only to the company’s workers but also to the general Cambodian public.

In response, H.E. Chea Vuthy highly commended the business activities of Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. He expressed his warm welcome for the proposed training center, noting that the project aligns with the Royal Government’s human resource development policy, specifically the 7th-term government’s program for 1.5 million vocational and technical trainings.

H.E. Chea Vuthy expressed optimism that this “extraordinary project” would take shape in the near future and affirmed that the Cambodian Investment Board would be pleased to facilitate the company’s investment project registration process.
Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. received approval in principle from the Cambodian Investment Board of the Council for the Development of Cambodia in 2022 to invest in a car assembly plant for Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Hilux models. The plant is located in the Royal Group Special Economic Zone in Phnom Penh.
