Toyota invests nearly $37 million for a new assembly plant

PHNOM PENH: Toyota, Japan’s world-class automaker, announced this week an investment of nearly $ 37 million in a project to build a huge assembly plant in Cambodia.

According to a press release issued by the Cambodian Special Economic Zone Committee of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, the committee decided to grant Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. a registration certificate as an investment project. On the construction of a factory to assemble the Toyota branded vehicles.

This large factory is located in the Royal Special Economic Zone, Phnom Penh, Phnom Penh, and will create approximately 150 jobs with an investment capital of 36.7 million US dollars.

Over the last weekend, approximately 50 Japanese investors led by the President of the Japan Business Association in Cambodia met with successful Cambodian business people to learn about the potential and investment opportunities in the country.

Japanese companies regularly learned opportunities about Cambodia from a variety of industries, including banking, construction and real estate, insurance, manufacturing, and others.
