In preparation for the ceremony, the Phnom Penh Capital Administration has announced the temporary suspension of all vehicle traffic across the concrete bridge and cable crossing at Tonle Sap along with the surrounding areas starting from 2 pm on May 30th. This step is taken for ensuring seamless proceedings of the inauguration while maintaining security, safety, order, and public convenience, and to prevent traffic congestion.

The cable-stayed concrete bridge, which took 28 months of construction by OCIC, is 922 meters long, 20.5 meters wide, and suspended by four poles equipped with traffic signs and lighting poles. It encompasses two lanes to two lanes and has a maximum height of 10.5 meters in the rainy season and a minimum height of 20.5 meters in the dry season.

The bridge will create a new pathway that connects Russey Keo’s National Road 5 and Chroy Changvar’s National Road 6. Additionally, it will also offer a new route connecting the city’s traffic to Moradok Techo National Stadium.

On the other hand, the Russey Keo flyover, which cost around $9.7 million and took about fifteen months to construct by OCIC, has a total length of 483 meters and a width of 15.8 meters.

The flyover will add to the total of five flyovers that are already operational around Phnom Penh, including Kbal Thnal, Stung Meanchey, 7 Makara, 5 Makara (Techno), and Phsar Dei Huy.

The post Phnom Penh to officially inaugurate two significant infrastructure projects first appeared on Estatedia | Economy & Real Estate Media in Cambodia.

PHNOM PENH: The cable-stayed bridge across the Tonle Sap in Russey Keo district had completed nearly 90% of the total project by next month, and is expected to complete in April 2023.

According to an announcement made by Phnom Penh’s Department of Public Works and Transport on the afternoon of December 5, the construction site of the concrete bridge of the Russey Keo cable across the Tonle Sap progress to reach 89% as of January 25, 2022, and is scheduled to be completed as planned during the upcoming Khmer New Year 2023.

Phnom Penh’s first cable-stayed bridge Project, which was constructed for about $35 million and measures 922 meters in length and 20.5 meters in width, plays an important role in significantly improving the traffic flow on National Roads 6 and 5.

Meanwhile, work on the Russey Keo Bridge at the intersection of National Road 5 has been busy to achieve the plan to facilitate people’s movement during the Khmer New Year to reduce traffic congestion, which is one of Cambodia’s biggest challenges.

The construction project expects to complete in March 2023. The bridge project is designed with a modern style, with four large pillars up to 40 meters tall for hanging cables.
