PHNOM PENH — SMT International School hosted a ceremony on May 31, 2026, to award certificates to more than 100 student achievers. The event, held ahead of International Children’s Day on June 1, also served as a Parent-Teacher Gathering for the school’s 2nd Branch.
The celebration took place at the Connexion Building in Koh Pich, Phnom Penh, bringing together school leadership, local and foreign faculty, guardians, and distinguished international guests.
Opening the ceremony, Dr. SUON MI, Executive Director of SMT International School, highlighted the institution’s strong foundation and 10-year history in Cambodia.
“SMT is a leading international school recognized by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports in Cambodia, providing education according to the standards of modern technical management systems with the most efficient, high quality, good service, discipline, and love,” Dr. Suon Mi stated.
Dr. Suon Mi expressed deep gratitude to the faculty and families, underscoring that education requires a unified ecosystem. “Education is not the responsibility of the school alone. A child becomes successful when parents, teachers, and the school work together with the same vision and commitment. Today’s gathering reflects the strong relationship and cooperation that support the future of our children.”
Following the opening remarks, Mr. Andrew Riese, President of the GrapeSEED Program, addressed the gathering, highlighting the deep significance of the event for the school community.
“Today is a very meaningful occasion as we come together to celebrate the achievements of our students and strengthen the partnership between the school and families,” Mr. Riese remarked.
In his address to the students, he added, “To all our students receiving certificates and awards today, congratulations. We are very proud of you. Your achievements are the result of your effort, discipline, and determination. Keep believing in yourselves, continue learning, and always do your best to achieve your dreams.“
