Sihanoukville Expands Investment Incentives, Approves 30 More Projects Worth $590 Million

PHNOM PENH: The Investment Promotion Working Group has approved special incentives for another 30 investment and business projects in Sihanoukville, totaling worth $590 million. The approved projects span a variety of industries, including metallurgy, processing, packaging, leather, retail, hospitality, and more.

Since the launch of the “Special Program to Promote Investment in Sihanoukville 2024,” the working group has now approved incentives for a total of 140 projects, ranging from small-scale enterprises to large-scale foreign investments.

Dr. Hean Sahip, Advisor to the Prime Minister and chair of the working group, highlighted the government’s commitment to creating a favorable investment climate in Sihanoukville.

In addition to approving special incentives, the working group has been implementing various measures to accelerate investment activities in the province. These measures include the Safe City Campaign, the organization of investment attraction forums, support for the development of agro-industrial parks, and the establishment of development zones.

Dr. Hean Sahip expressed his appreciation for the participation, support, and commitment of the working group and relevant government agencies in improving the business environment and ensuring the effective and transparent implementation of incentives in Sihanoukville.

The working group’s decision to approve special incentives for these 30 projects is a significant step towards realizing Sihanoukville’s potential as a major economic hub in Cambodia. The incentives are expected to stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and contribute to the development of the region.
