PHNOM PENH: Cambodia’s Siem Reap province, home to the iconic Angkor Archaeological Park, was listed as a Best Cultural Destination in the world for 2026 by Tripadvisor, the world-renowned travel platform.
Siem Reap sits 13th among the 25 Best Cultural Destinations. Singapore topped the list, followed by London, Krakow, and Paris.
“When the morning light washes over the overgrown temples and ruins of Angkor Wat, a simple Siem Reap sunrise becomes a profound event. The ancient structures are contained within one of the largest religious complexes in the world. The complex and the 12th century Angkor Thom royal city are considered the main reasons to visit Siem Reap,” Tripadvisor remarked.
Tripadvisor runs an award exercise annually for travellers’ favorite destinations based on the quality and quantity of reviews and ratings collected throughout the year.
According to a report from Angkor Enterprise, Angkor Archaeological Park, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1992, welcomed 955,131 foreign visitors in 2025, generating more than US$44.7 million in income.
