Russey Keo flyover to be opened for temporary use this week

PHNOM PENH: The Russey Keo flyover will be put into temporary use on Mar. 1, 2023, according to Phnom Penh municipal administration’s announcement on Friday.

The temporary opening will be made with the agreement in principle of Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen in order to ease the traffic flows and people’s travel, the source said.

The new flyover is located along National Road No. 5 in Klaing Saing village, Sangkat Russey Keo, Khan Russey Keo.

Constructed by the Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation (OCIC), a local construction company, the Russey Keo flyover stretches 483 meters long 15.8 meters wide, and 5 meters high.

The Russey Keo Bridge at the intersection of National Road 5 has always been busy with people during Khmer New Year, so the project is critical to reducing traffic congestion, which is one of the capital’s biggest challenges.
