PHNOM PENH: The Government of the Republic of Korea has provided over US$2 billion in loans to Cambodia through the Economic Development Cooperation Fund to support all sectors, including roads, bridges, clean water supply, irrigation system, and health since 2001.
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Cambodia, H.E. PARK Jung-wook, made the remarks in his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the University of Health Sciences Hospital, built under a concessional loan from the Republic of Korea, here on December 10.
“Economic Development Cooperation Fund’s loans to Cambodia have contributed to the economic and social development of Cambodia,” he added.
The South Korean diplomat further said that the RoK’s government is committed to promoting infrastructure, various development cooperation, and sharing sustainable development with Cambodia.
The leaders of the two countries agreed in June this year to upgrade relations between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Korea to the strategic partnership.
